SS25 | Rue Blanche x Novesta Collaboration
Some designs feel inevitable, as if they have always existed. Novesta’s craftsmanship, rooted in its Slovakian heritage since the 1930s, has long resonated with us. What began as admiration became something tangible: a special edition of the iconic Star Master plimsolls, redesigned by Rue Blanche.
Novesta
Founded in Slovakia in the 1930s, Novesta prioritises craftsmanship and sustainability. Their use of traditional techniques and eco-friendly materials produces minimalist footwear, while their commitment to European production ensures quality control at every stage. “We still operate in the original premises,” says owner Igor Grosaft, “using the same technology we always have. Sticking to these roots has preserved our identity as a low-impact brand.”
The shoes
The Rue Blanche x Novesta plimsolls reinterpret the iconic Star Master with its natural rubber sole and durable cotton twill. The warm neutrals, deep burgundy, and navy complement Rue Blanche’s aesthetic, while subtle graphic accents add a playful elegance.
Comfort-driven, the shoes feature breathable cotton and a removable insole. A chunky rubber sole, navy stitching, a blue ribbon at the back, and two pairs of laces—brown with cream and brown with navy—complete the design with refined, personalised details.
